Early Life on John Steinbeck
John Ernst Steinbeck Jr was born February 27,1902- December 29th 1968 in Salinas, California.He became a writer at the early age of 14 but as he became older He dropped out of college and worked as a manual laborer But He later became an American author best known for his novella of mice and men, and also his novel The Grapes of Wrath that won him a pulitzer Prize. John was 1 of 4 kids with a Father that tried his hand at several different jobs to keep his family fed; He owned a feed-and-grain store, managed a flour plant, and served as a treasurer of monterey county, Along with his mother, Olive Hamilton Steinbeck who was a former school teacher.He had a very happy childhood. He was shy and very smart. He formed and early appreciation for the land, and in particular California's Salinas Valley, Which is what greatly informed his writing career.
